Dressing up...

Ok, so some people might say dressing up your dog is weird and shows slight signs of psychological disturbance and I think I now have to agree.
Mum takes great pleasure in putting socks on my paws which makes me walk funny and making me sit very still whilst she tries to attach a visor and glasses around my head! Dad found it hilarious last night to balance a placemat on my head whilst I was trying to sleep!
But at least they don't make me wear or do any of these things outside the house, of which I am eternally grateful ...........especially after seeing what some dogs have to wear out.

Suppose I could get one of these for Dad :-)

Off to the mountains.....

We are off to the mountains!!!! Yaaaaaay. Wo Wess ;-)

Mum and Dad said we are going in a couple of weeks and I'm going with them. I'm not too keen on this funny bubble lift that takes us from the bottom to the top of the mountain (personally I don't see why we don't just run up!) but anyway at least I get to run down.

But it is cold there now and so my brilliant brother, knowing I get a bit cold, lent me his top which will be much appreciated on those cold winter mornings in the mountains.

Best Friends

Nana in the black coat and Maxi in the Yellow coat

Friends are so important and as much as I would like a son of my own to play with (and so would mum and dad), I currently have two really really good friends who I see most days.

Maxi is a bit older (Joerg is her dad) and can't play so much as she has just had a hip operation, but she really looks after me especially when I need my ears cleaned.

Nana is my top playmate, she is brilliant! We can run for hours and play and dig and swim and then we get back we chill on the sofa together having doggie dreams.

It's a dog's life!

Grammy's gone....

Grammy's gone home to England in a steel tube made of "I.C.E" and bed privileges (like Maggie) have been revoked....sigh. :-(

Well, almost - I find a few hours nap on my Dad is almost as comfortable as the spare bed. By sleeping on top of him I can snooze heavily in the knowledge that if he attempts to move I will know immediately and can go with him, as I know he hates to be alone ;-)

All Vizslas beware metal sticks and spikey shoes

Well, I was right to be worried......those metal sticks mean real trouble. I can't believe mum and dad got up at 6am on a Saturday morning, got me all excited, took me for a pee pee, then put their spikey shoes on left me home ALONE !! How could they forget me??

.........Fortunately, after sitting and staring at the front door for over an hour my best "human" friend Joerg came and relieved my great state of anxiousness by taking me out for a run with my mates. Joerg is great, he picks me up in his red van, I jump in with all the other dogs and then off we go.... 3 or 4 walks a day - with all my mates and some lovely lady doggies - brilliant.

The only bad part about Joerg is when we get back to my place he doesn't want to play or lay on the sofa with me.....he just shuts the door and leaves me.....alone.

Usually I'm pretty tired at this point having worked pretty hard all day terrorising small dogs, sniffing alot (and I mean alot) of doggie bots (that one's for you DP :-), guarding all my lady dogs and generally ensuring the entire canine population of Dusseldorf receives their daily workout - but I can't possibly sleep as I am on my own - so I sit on my chair staring fixatedly at the front door waiting for it to open.

It seems like hours before the door opens but when it does, boy, am I pleased to see them - I thought they would never come back. I always go nuts, jump up, bash my tail, waggle my butt, lick their faces and give them a cuddle just to make sure they know how much I missed them in the hope they never leave me alone again.

It's now Sunday morning, Dad is in bed sleeping, he has had a really busy week getting out of the car in the morning and getting back in about 10 hours later. Grandma who arrived last night is also sleeping which is no fun......only mum is up and she is.......hold on a minute, what's mum doing......? OH NO....... she's got a funny peak thing on her head and she keeps putting things in the bag with the metal sticks.

Surely she isn't leaving me again.........

Hello

Hi, I'm Muttley and this is my first try at my own blog. My Dad seems to spend ages on his blog (which means not as much play time with me) but it makes him and mum laugh and then Mum showed me Maggie the Vizsla's blog and that was it, I had to give it a try!

So, where do I start.....well, I am almost 3 years old and was born in Germany. I live here with my English Mum and Dad and my brothers and grandparents come and visit every few weeks which is great fun. I have a real outdoors life, luckily my mum likes to walk alot so I get to see my friends down by the river almost every day. Dad comes too when he can and sometimes I go for a jog with him which is great. I have a feeling they are off somewhere this weekend as the metal sticks and spikey shoes are in the hallway *sigh*, I will let you know on Monday how my weekend was. In the meantime...

Some of my favorite things....

Sitting on laps
Playing with other dogs on the sand
Running
Sleeping on the sofa inbetween my mum and dad
Cheese....the smellier the better
Crisps and poppadums
Lying on my back with all fours in the air
Pigs ear chews
Games
Sleeping on my brothers' beds
My best friend Nana
Digging

Some of my least favorite things......

Being alone
Loud wind noise - makes me really anxious
The hoover
Mum shutting the loo door
